Travis Kelce’s dad Ed gushes over ‘girl next door’ Taylor Swift before wedding

As the time nears for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s dad, Ed, is extremely excited for the nuptials.

Speaking to FOX 29 Philadelphia, Ed Kelce claimed that he was “super excited” for his youngest son to get married. He then praised Swift, whom he called “truly the girl next door,” just like Jason Kelce’s wife, Kylie.

“I am super excited. She is a sweetheart. That is truly the girl next door, just like Kylie [Kelce],” he said, also referencing his other daughter-in-law.

By all accounts, he is very excited to gain another daughter-in-law soon over the next couple of weeks. The Kelce family is growing, and Ed is all for it.

When is Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding?

Swift and Kelce’s wedding is rumored to take place in just over a week on July 3 in New York. There have been rumors of them holding one of the events at Madison Square Garden, yes, the World’s Most Famous Arena.

Either way, it is an exciting time for the couple. They got engaged in August 2025, right before the NFL season began. Their wedding comes nearly three years after their relationship became public.

Currently, Kelce is in the midst of his 14th offseason. He decided to return to the Chiefs for at least one more season, re-signing on a three-year deal, after contemplating retirement. The Chiefs are hoping to bounce back after a disappointing 6-11 campaign in 2025.

Meanwhile, Swift has been in the news for her recent role in Toy Story 5. After months of speculation, they announced that Swift was contributing a song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” to the movie’s soundtrack. The single was released on June 5, 2026. Toy Story 5 was then released on the 20th anniversary of her debut single, “Tim McGraw,” on June 19.
