Tiger Woods’ son Charlie signs NIL deal with $1.7bn company before securing best season finish

Charlie Woods, son of golf legend Tiger Woods, has signed his first NIL (name, image, and likeness) deal.

The 17-year-old high school senior has committed to play golf for Florida State next year, and will be representing equipment manufacturer TaylorMade.

He has already been mostly using the California-base company, acquired by Centroid for $1.7 billion in 2021, which dad Tiger also plays with, during junior competitions.

Moving forward, Charlie will play a TaylorMade driver, fairway woods, irons, wedges, and ball.

The deal was announced last Friday, ahead of Labor Day weekend, as Woods competed in the Junior Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass — a course his dad knows well.

TaylorMade is also the parent company of Sun Day Red, the apparel brand 15-time major champion Tiger launched in 2024. Charlie has also worn it frequently as a teenager.

A statement, released on September 4, read: “TaylorMade Golf announces the signing of AJGA (American Junior Golf Association) champion Charlie Woods to its growing roster of top junior and collegiate NIL athletes.

“Woods, the 2025 AJGA Team TaylorMade Invitational winner, is a rising senior at the Benjamin School in North Palm Beach, Florida, and a 2027 Florida State golf commit.

“Woods arrives with a resume built on the AJGA circuit and top amateur events.

“His 2025 win at Streamsong’s Black Course came by a margin of three shots in a field that included four of the five top-ranked AJGA players at the time.

“Woods joins TaylorMade’s elite roster of amateur golfers including his future college teammate & WAGR No. 5 Miles Russell, U.S. Women’s Amateur winner Asterisk Talley, NCAA Team Champion Logan Reilly & more.”

Signing his first NIL deal marked an exciting weekend for Woods, and he had further reason to celebrate at TPC Sawgrass.

The teenager finished inside the top 10 at the Junior Players Championship, with the tournament under a weather delay.

Charlie carded a 1-under 71 in his final round to finish on 1-under par in a tie for eighth on the leaderboard.

It marks his best finish at the Junior Players Championship, one of the biggest events on the AJGA calendar.

JP Lynch of Austin, Texas, claimed the title at Ponte Vedra Beach in Florida.

The University of Oklahoma commit fired a 6-under-par 66 in his final round to finish the week at 8-under-par.

“I can’t even put it into words. I can’t believe it, and it hasn’t really sunk in yet,” Lynch said of his victory.

“I had to wait three hours to basically hit one putt, which is kind of funny to me, but it feels great.

“I was really nervous and couldn’t get myself to eat lunch, but I went into the player locker room, hung out with friends and watched football, and eventually those nerves died down.

“I’ve really been in a flow state the whole week, and today wasn’t any different.”
