Pittsburgh sent a second-round pick for Metcalf, then handed him a four-year, $132 million extension worth $33 million per season.

“I live with my decisions every day… they’re very well thought-out decisions to where I know the consequences, know my benefits from every decision that I make,” Metcalf says. “I got brothers on (the Seahawks), still friends on the team. So I congratulated them, but nobody’s sour over an ex unless you really miss them. So no, I wasn’t sour.”

That answer fits DK Metcalf’s mindset. He spent six seasons in Seattle from 2019 through 2024, earning two All-Pro selections while becoming one of the league’s most dangerous deep threats. Years of big plays made him a fan favorite under the stadium lights.

Still, his first Steelers season ended painfully. Pittsburgh was crushed 30-6 by the Houston Texans in the Wild Card round, while Seattle kept rolling all the way to a championship.

That contrast will follow Metcalf into 2026, with Seattle holding the Super Bowl and Pittsburgh betting on the receiver it paid like a franchise centerpiece.

No bitterness or second-guessing, just another season to prove the decision was worth it.
