Drew Brees lands new job for 2026 NFL season after replacing Raiders superstar

Drew Brees is continuing to grow his media presence.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback retired from the NFL in 2020 after making $270 million in career earnings, leaving a legacy as one of the greatest passers of all time.

In 20 seasons spent between the San Diego Chargers and New Orleans Saints, Brees recorded 80,358 passing yards and 571 passing touchdowns.

Both figures have only been surpassed by arguably the greatest to ever do it in Tom Brady (89,214 yards and 649 touchdowns.)

Following his retirement from his playing career, Brees served as a color analyst for NBC Sports’ Football Night in America during the 2021 season, alongside play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico, as well as the network’s coverage of college football outfit Notre Dame.

But he would last just one season with the network, citing that he wanted to spend more time with his family.

After stepping away from the game in its entirety for a few years, Brees returned to the fold in 2025, becoming a weekly contributor on ESPN’s First Take before being named as the replacement to Mark Sanchez as an NFL game analyst for Fox.

This move coincided with Sanchez’s arrest in Indianapolis for a felony battery charge and three misdemeanors after allegedly assaulting a truck driver back in October of last year.

He was also a part of Netflix’s Christmas Gameday broadcasting team in 2025.

The 2026 season, therefore, will mark Brees’ first full season in the NFL on Fox booth alongside Adam Amin, but he has also lined up another job for the upcoming season.

Brees joins SiriusXM’s Let’s Go! show

The Super Bowl XLIV MVP and 13-time Pro Bowler has been named as a co-host for SiriusXM’s Let’s Go! show alongside Los Angeles Rams and reigning league MVP Matthew Stafford, as well as Jim Gray and Peter King.

“I’m excited to join Jim Gray and our great list of guests on Let’s Go as we break down the biggest moments in the NFL every week, giving fans tons of insight and entertainment,” Brees said per a press release from SiriusXM.

This move also appears to signal the end of of Maxx Crosby‘s time as a co-host on the show, with Brees effectively named as his unofficial ‘replacement’.

No explanation has been given as to why Crosby has departed, but he is already juggling playing for the Las Vegas Raiders alongside building his own media empire with his own podcast titled The Rush with Maxx Crosby.

His YouTube channel currently boasts 114,000 subscribers, and has amassed over 42 million views since 2023.

After a hectic offseason in which he was traded from the Raiders to the Baltimore Ravens, only to return back to the Sin City after reportedly failing a physical, Crosby may also have decided to leave his role on Let’s Go! in order to focus on the upcoming season ahead.

Brees isn’t the only former NFL star to join SiriusXM this offseason, though, as recently retired wide receiver Adam Thielen has signed with the network as a host on Airing It Out alongside Bob Papa which runs every Tuesday from 10 a.m. through to noon ET.

Additionally, SiriusXM’s weekly program The Players’ Point will be hosted by active NFL players who will rotate as hosts, and features New York Giants defensive tackle Shelby Harris, Los Angeles Chargers fullback Alec Ingold and New York Jets linebacker Demario Davis.

Carolina Panthers long snapper J.J. Jansen and current free agent Brandin Cooks are also lined up to feature.
