The real reason WWE star Drew McIntyre was pulled from Fanatics Fest

Unfortunately for those attending the 2026 Fanatics Fest and hoping to meet WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre, you are out of luck — he has been pulled from the lineup.

He is no longer featured on the website’s all-star lineup, which includes other WWE Superstars, such as Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, Danhausen, Penta, and Alexa Bliss.

PWInsider (via Ringside News) reports that he was pulled from the event due to his filming commitments for his upcoming movie, The Last Druid, which also features Russell Crowe.

Another WWE star pulled out of Fanatics Fest besides Drew McIntyre

The “Scottish Warrior” isn’t the only WWE Superstar who is no longer attending Fanatics Fest. The event’s website also states that Bianca Belair is no longer going to be there.

Granted, she is pregnant, and that may explain her absence. Other athletes who dropped out include Freddie Freeman, Deebo Samuel, and Chet Holmgren.

McIntyre has been booked and busy during his hiatus. In Ringside News’ report, they note that Self Made Pro doesn’t expect McIntyre back for SummerSlam, WWE’s second-biggest annual event, in August either.

He hasn’t been in WWE for a couple of months. His last match was an “unsanctioned” bout against Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42, which he lost. A few weeks earlier, he had lost the Undisputed WWE Championship back to Cody Rhodes after defeating him for it a couple of months earlier.

It’s unknown whether McIntyre will return to WWE as a babyface or a heel. He has been a heel for most of the last couple of years. However, he had a huge babyface run in 2020 when he won the WWE Championship for the first time. He eliminated Brock Lesnar from the Royal Rumble and beat him at WrestleMania. Perhaps WWE will give him another chance to be the top hero of the roster.
