The Masters 2026 prize money: Purse details and full payout breakdown as Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler bank big
An exciting weekend of Masters action has been and gone, with Rory McIlroy delighting in a second consecutive victory at Augusta.
The Northern Irishman has donned the iconic Green Jacket once again as he held off Scottie Scheffler to finish 12 under on Sunday.

Victory comes a year after McIlroy finally ended his wait to complete the career Grand Slam by winning all four of golf’s majors.
It has also made him just the fourth player in history to win back-to-back Masters titles after Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods.
McIlroy is already aware of the lucrative financial gains from winning golf’s biggest and best tournament.
And this year, the new six-time major winner has earned even more money from his display at the Augusta National Golf Club.
The Masters 2026 prize money
The total prize purse for the 2026 Masters was $22.5million (£16.8m), a rise of around seven per cent from last year’s $21m (£15.7m).
McIlroy has earned $4.5m (£3.4m) from his win, which is up from $4.2m (£3.1m) last year.
Scheffler has banked $2.43m (£1.81m) from finishing second.
Tyrrell Hatton, Russell Henley, Justin Rose and Cameron Young were third, which offers $1.53m (£1.14m).
However, CBS report that they have each earned $1.08m (£805k) from their joint finish.
Collin Morikawa and Sam Burns have won $725,625 (£540,772) each from finishing joint-seventh.

And in joint-ninth were Max Homa and Xander Schauffele, who have each collected $630,000 (£469,507).
The lowest prize fund was $52,200 (£38,902), which Charl Schwartzel won as he finished 54th.
What did McIlroy say after his Masters win?
Before being presented with his prize on Sunday, McIlroy said: “I can’t believe I waited 17 years to get one Green Jacket and I get two in a row.
“I think all my perseverance at this golf tournament over the years has really started to pay off, it was a tough weekend and I did the bulk of my work on Thursday and Friday.
“I’m so happy to have hung in there. It felt pretty similar to last year, I made a double bogey but after that I played pretty flawless golf, four birdies and no bogies going to the last tee.
“It was nice to have a two-shot cushion this year, rather than one last year.

“I think (it will be) different. I said at the start of the week here I felt like the grand slam was the destination and I realised it wasn’t.
“I just won my sixth major and I feel like I’m in a really good spot with my game and my body.
“I don’t want to put a number on it but I feel like this win is just – I don’t want to say a stop on the journey but it’s just a part of the journey.
“I still have things I want to achieve – but I still want to enjoy it as well.
“I’ve waited so long to win the Masters and all of a sudden I win two in a row so I still want to enjoy it.
“I’ve got a couple of weeks off before I go back to play competitive golf but I don’t think I’ll go through that lull of motivation or the sort of things that I was feeling last year post winning this tournament.”
