However, his contract stipulates an NBA exit until July 15, with Marc Stein of The Stein Line reporting that multiple teams are expected to evaluate the guard before the clause expires. Walker, per a post on X.
Walker has played seven NBA seasons, averaging 10 points per game and is expected to generate interest as free agency progresses. The 27-year-old appeared in 342 regular-season games across stints with the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers.
Over those seven seasons, he averaged 2.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 42.2% from the field and 35.6% from three-point range. He has also appeared in 19 career playoff games and produced an impressive postseason run for the Lakers back during the 2023-24 season.
Walker most recently returned to the NBA during the 2024-25 season after leaving Žalgiris Kaunas, signing with his hometown Philadelphia 76ers. In 20 appearances, including seven starts, he averaged 12.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 23.9 minutes per game. Philadelphia declined a team option following the season, making Walker an unrestricted free agent before he ultimately signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Walker averaged 13.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists across 19 EuroLeague games with Žalgiris Kaunas during the 2024-25 campaign before helping the club win the King Mindaugas Cup. He then joined Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he was part of the team that captured the 2026 Israeli Premier League championship.
Selected 18th overall by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2018 NBA Draft Walker has previously produced double-digit scoring averages in four different NBA seasons, including career highs of 12.4 points with Philadelphia in 2025 and 12.1 points with San Antonio during the 2021-22 campaign. Regardless, the proven experience means that Walker remains an intriguing option for teams looking to add depth, with Walker IV still just 27 years old and potentially a free agent with huge upside.
