Texas A&M lands ‘elite’ receiver over Florida, Georgia

Texas A&M football is winning over high-profile wide receivers on the College Football Recruiting trail. Damani Warren turned down Michigan and Oregon for the Aggies on Saturday. But now the Aggies and head coach Mike Elko pulled in a four-star talent over Florida and Georgia: Eric McFarland.

The IMG Academy of Bradenton, Florida star turns down the Gators and Bulldogs for the nation’s top-ranked recruiting class.

“Thank you God!! Aggie Nation I’m Home!!” McFarland said via Hayes Fawcett of On3/Rivals in announcing his decision.

The SEC powerhouse lands a talent who’s scored 19 touchdowns in his varsity career, all while facing one of the nation’s best prep schedules. McFarland reportedly runs in the 4.4 and 4.3 range through his 40-yard dash, which is rare for a high school recruit.

McFarland’s next offensive coordinator once he signs the letter of intent presents a background in wide receivers. Promoted OC Holmon Wiggins ran point on McFarland’s commitment. McFarland fired off a signal to national recruiting analyst Adam Gorney of Rivals that the Aggies were going to be the team to beat.

The Aggies land a potential KC Concepcion here too. Concepcion emerged as a first rounder in the NFL Draft at No. 24 overall. Although Concepcion arrived to College Station as a transfer portal addition via North Carolina State. But landing with the Aggies ascended the explosive slot wideout.

McFarland brings a near similar-build at 5-foot-8 but hits defenders with twitchy speed. Once again he adds to a 2027 class that sits at No. 1 overall per both On3/Rivals and 247Sports.
