Tarik Skubal reveals ‘initial reaction’ Dodgers LA trade

One of the most talked-about moves ahead of the MLB Trade Deadline was the future of Tarik Skubal with the Detroit Tigers. That was answered on Sunday, when Skubal was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Skubal appeared in the dugout for the first time with his new team on Sunday, and on Monday, spoke to the media, giving his initial reaction to the trade, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.

“Yeah, initial reactions, there was a lot of emotion, right? You know, I spent eight years with the Detroit Tigers. That place will always be special to me no matter what, but, in the same breath, you know I’m excited to be here. To compete with these guys,” Skubal said. “When you watch them from across the way or just to see them, you know, do their thing on TV, you just have a lot of respect, because they play the game the right way. The entire focus of this organization is on winning championships. That’s my entire focus playing baseball. So we’re very much aligned. I’m ready to go out there and compete and give this organization and city everything that I’ve got.”
