Ravens’ Trey Hendrickson training camp update will scare rest of AFC

It seems like there is a lot of love between Trey Hendrickson and the Baltimore Ravens. That includes quarterback Joe Burrow. And Hendrickson’s training camp update will scare the rest of the AFC, according to a post on X by Ian Rapoport.

“Really good,” Rapoport said. “He is an intense dude. And he fits in here. He’s tough, and he’s physical. And he wants it very, very, very badly. Early returns are really good. (The defensive line) should be much improved from last year. I think Trey’s going to be a big part of it.”

There’s certainly an air of confidence coming from the Ravens, according to baltimoreravens.com.

“Hendrickson is only 31 years old and has 81 career sacks,” Clifton Brown wrote. “If he stays healthy, he looks like a lock to far exceed 100 career sacks. The main thing standing between Hendrickson and opposing quarterbacks are offensive linemen who have struggled to block him for years.”

As for Hendrickson, he said the results will come when the games start, according to The Athletic.

“I’m not into predictions,” Hendrickson said. “(All) I can give you is: We are going to hit when the pads come on.”

And Hendrickson isn’t the only weapon, defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver said.

“We have some guys that can get there, whether that is through (their) game, through scheme, or on their own,” Weaver said. “When you have that, as a coordinator, it makes life pretty easy. You do not have to try to scheme up free runners or things like that. You can use the complexity of illusion to let those guys win. I do not think anything is really real until we put the pads on, but thus far, I love what I am seeing with just the overall work ethic of all those front guys.”

Of course, the offense will have to do its part. But if quarterback Lamar Jackson doesn’t have to carry the team because of a good defense, the Ravens should win consistently.
