Saturday’s football tips

Bet of the Day

Manchester United draw no bet v Chelsea @ 6/5

Manchester United were turned over by Leeds on Monday night, but the Red Devils hold all the aces when they head to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Michael Carrick’s men retain a strong position in the battle for a top-five finish, while a draw or defeat would leave Chelsea struggling to reach next season’s Champions League.

The Blues offered next to no threat when losing 3-0 to Manchester City last weekend and the west Londoners are a team without a top-level manager, while the squad lacks discipline and quality.

Chelsea have lost five of their last six matches and the only success on that awful run was an FA Cup victory over League One strugglers Port Vale.

Manchester United have beaten Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City this season, and while Carrick’s side remain a work in progress, they are moving in the right direction.

It’s difficult to see the Red Devils losing at Stamford Bridge, and the odds of 6/5 on draw no bet appeal.

Special of the Day

Brighton to win, over 2.5 goals & Danny Welbeck +1 shot bet builder @ 5/2

Roberto De Zerbi and Tottenham will see a home game against Brighton as an opportunity to pick up a much-needed three points in their battle to avoid relegation.

The expectant Spurs crowd will demand that the Lilywhites go on the front foot on home turf, but that’s a dangerous game against an in-form Brighton side.

The Seagulls have won five of their last six top-flight matches and they are well adept at counter-attacking football.

It’s 14 Premier League games without success for Spurs, who have seen nine of those matches go over 2.5 goals, and that trend should continue on Saturday.

Danny Welbeck is averaging 2.23 shots per 90 minutes in the top flight this term and the former Arsenal forward can manage at least one against Spurs as part of a 12/5 bet builder.

Longshot of the Day

QPR to beat Millwall, Birmingham to beat Hull, West Brom to beat Preston treble @ 26/1

Pressure can do funny things and Championship promotion hopefuls Millwall are under maximum duress.

The Lions were second-best when drawing 0-0 at West Brom last time out and it’s only one win in five games for the south Londoners. QPR are playing well enough to win at the Den.

Hull are clinging onto a play-off spot, after winning only four of their last 13 second-tier games and the Tigers’ top-six hopes could be hurt by Birmingham, who impressed when beating Wrexham 2-0 last time.At the other end of the Championship table, West Brom can ease their relegation fears at Preston. The Baggies are unbeaten in seven games, while North End have won only three of their last 17.
