Friday football tips

Bet of the Day

West Ham to beat Wolves @ 4/5

Wolves look to be heading for relegation, but the Premier League’s bottom club could have a big say in West Ham’s battle to avoid the drop on Friday night.

There is no doubt that there has been some improvement from Rob Edwards’ men, but Wolves have failed to win any of their 15 away games in the league this term and they have collected just five points on the road.

West Ham have lost only three of their last 14 matches in 90 minutes and are unbeaten in seven at home.

Clearly, the Hammers will have been disappointed to lose a penalty shootout to Leeds in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday, but Nuno Espirito Santo’s side hit 22 shots and created an expected goals total of 3.12 in an impressive performance.

West Ham look a solid bet to boost their survival hopes in front of what will be a fully-supportive home crowd.

Special of the Day

West Brom to win & over 2.5 goals @ 27/10

Millwall have faced Ipswich, Middlesbrough and Norwich in their previous three matches, but the tough run of fixtures doesn’t end for the Lions as they next head to West Brom.

The Baggies have struggled for much of the campaign, but they are much improved under interim boss James Morrison, avoiding defeat in six successive games, while in terms of xG, they are actually outperforming Millwall this term.

The Lions have conceded xG totals of 2.13, 3.35 and 1.48 in their last three Championship matches, and while the prize of promotion to the Premier League is pushing the south Londoners on, a trip to The Hawthorns rates a tough task for Millwall’s defence.

A West Brom victory and over 2.5 goals bet builder pays at a tasty 27/10.

Longshot of the Day

Roma to beat Pisa, Girona or draw double chance v Real Madrid, Ross County to beat Queen’s Park treble @ 31/4

Pisa have lost six of their last seven Serie A matches, conceded 11 times across their last four games and are heading for relegation. Hosts Roma will expect to win with something to spare at the Stadio Olimpico.

Real Madrid were run hard in a 2-1 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich on Tuesday night, and while Girona lack the quality of the Bavarians, it’s a short turnaround for Los Blancos.

Europe is very much the priority for Alvaro Arbeloa’s men, who are unlikely to catch Barcelona at the top of La Liga and Girona could spring a surprise at the Bernabeu.

Ross County are in major trouble at the bottom of the Scottish Championship, but the Staggies can ease their relegation fears by beating Queen’s Park.

The Spiders have scored just 10 goals in their last 11 matches and if County are to survive, this is a contest where they surely have to collect all three points.
