Tage Thompson heroics spark bonkers Sabres comeback vs. Bruins in Game 1
The Buffalo Sabers snapped the longest playoff drought in North American sports this season. Buffalo won the Atlantic Division, drawing the Boston Bruins in the first round. After Boston raced out to 2-0 lead, though, Tage Thompson gave Sabres fans something to cheer for.
Thompson scored two goals for Buffalo as the team completed a massive comeback. His goals were the team’s first playoff goals in over 5400 days. With three minutes left, defenseman Mattias Samuelsson scored to make it 3-2. And forward Alex Tuch put the final touches on a massive 4-3 win in Game 1.
