Stephon Marbury vibing hard after watching Knicks make Cavs ‘quit’ in Game 3
On Saturday night, the New York Knicks took a commanding 3-0 lead in their Eastern Conference Finals series against the Cleveland Cavs with a comfortable 121-108 win on the road. The Knicks now sit just one win away from their first trip to the NBA Finals since 1999, with a chance to close it out in Game 4 on Monday.
One of the many former Knicks players reveling in the joy of this playoff run is point guard Stephon Marbury, who took to X, formerly Twitter, to point out how New York seems to have the Cavs on the ropes.
“Made them quit,” wrote Marbury, in response to a late-game possession in which the Cavs appeared to stop defending Knicks star Jalen Brunson altogether, resulting in a game-sealing layup.
Marbury later took to the social media platform with a bit of a poem about New York’s playoff run.
“This energy. This vibe. This flow. One more to go. We won’t get too high. I won’t get too low.
We will stand right in the middle. I’ve been here since the start of pre-season. Thankful I saw the rise. Mike Brown is the man. He’s our guy. Everyone said he wasn’t. Sadly, they never gave him a chance. Sweeps? Come on, man. When are you gonna admit you made a mistake? If you don’t say it, the players will. So get ready. Let’s go, Knicks!!!” he wrote.
The Knicks have been utterly dominant in this playoff run since falling behind 2-1 to the Atlanta Hawks, now having won ten straight playoff games, nine of which have come by double digits.
New York can make it to its first NBA Finals of the 21st century when they hit the floor for Game 4 against the Cavs on Monday night in Cleveland.
