Steelers’ rookie finds hilarious way to poke fun at Aaron Rodgers’ age

While playing for more than two decades in the NFL, Pittsburgh Steelers’ Aaron Rodgers has always been a little strict with the rookies. Though it’s hard to imagine playing your first football season alongside the future Hall of Famer, rookie wide receiver Germie Bernard found a hilarious way to troll him.

During his recent appearance on Not Just Football with Cam Heyward, Bernard compared Rodgers to his mother.

“I’m 22. He’s been playing for that long. I think he might be older than my mom,” Bernard said.

However, the rookie WR’s hilarious reference did not come out of nowhere. He was initially commending Rodgers’ long years of experience and how he pushes everybody to their limits.

“I ain’t lying, I be having low-key a little bit of anxiety when I’m out there with him just because it’s like I don’t really want to mess up cuz then I feel like damn, he finna chew my a** out,” he earlier said. “I enjoy being there with him and being under him because he’s just teaching me the game; he’s given me all the knowledge he knows about the game.”

Born on December 2, 2003, he was drafted 47th overall in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft. He had a strong preseason debut during the Steelers 28-9 win over the Green Bay Packers.

Entering his rookie year, being predicted to make the Steelers’ 53-man roster for the 2026 NFL season, Bernard has a long way to go. The Alabama alum even won praise from Rodgers for his physical traits.

“Germie just needs to learn the offense inside and out. When he does that, he has a lot of great physical traits…I think he’s got a really bright future because of his attitude (and) his approach,” Rodgers said.
