Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama had all-time aura farming moment in Game 1

Victor Wembanyama’s performance in the San Antonio Spurs’ 122-115 2OT win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the 2026 Western Conference Finals is the stuff legends are made of. Wembanyama recorded 41 points, 24 rebounds, and three blocks as he came up with huge buckets over and over again to give the Spurs a 1-0 series lead.

It remains difficult to choose what the biggest moment of the night was for Wembanyama. Many would point to his bonkers three from Stephen Curry range to tie the game at 108 during the first overtime period as his best moment of Game 1, which is the obvious choice. Alex Caruso’s 31-point night made the Spurs’ choice to put the reigning Defensive Player of the Year on the 6’5″ guard look foolish, but it wasn’t enough in the end as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander struggled to the tune of a 7-23 shooting display.

And then on the other end, the Thunder were looking to disrupt Wembanyama and force turnovers by putting Caruso on him — only for the Spurs star to dominate the paint towards the end of the second extra period.

The job is far from finished, but the Spurs could not have asked for a better start at all from
