‘Soul left his body’ — MMA fighter snaps rival’s head back in frightening face-plant KO
Lucas Corbage instantly entered MMA folklore with his knockout win at FFC 99 on Wednesday night.
The 36-year-old Brazilian-born Argentine lightweight faced Ronald Padilla under the Peru-based Fusion FC banner in Buenos Aires, and his finish has every MMA fan talking.

Corbage went 10-0 at the start of his professional MMA career, but entered his fight with Padilla having won just two of his last six.
Padilla, meanwhile, was defending his FFC interim lightweight title and on a four-fight winning streak that included three finishes and a first-round KO.
But as we’ve seen so many times in mixed martial arts, form sometimes goes completely out the window when the cage door is shut.
Knockout of the Year contender at FFC 99
With just over two minutes left in the opening round of the Buenos Aires fight, Corbage feinted a jab before unloading a massive right hand.
‘Lubera’ caught Padilla square on the jaw, and his Peruvian opponent’s mouth guard went flying up in the air.
Padilla briefly hovered in the air before his body eventually gave up, and he crashed straight to the canvas.
Corbage knew victory was his as soon as his thunderous right hand connected with Padilla, so he walked off to his corner in the coolest fashion with no need for any follow-up blows.
The Argentine fighter lifted both hands to celebrate the win as
‘Guerrero de Dios’ brutally face planted to the ground.
MMA fans react to insane KO
“Welcome to the Shadow Realm,” one fan wrote on X, responding to the vicious KO.
“Damn, sent him to another dimension,” another added.
A third wrote: “I could feel his soul leave his body.”
While another said: “Knocked the mouthpiece right outta him when he sent him to next week.”
A fifth added: “It’s the way his mouthpiece flies out and knee bends that doesn’t sit well with me.”
And another wrote: “This one might actually be the most disgusting KO I’ve seen in MMA.”
Corbage’s KO puts him straight into contention for the ‘Knockout of the Year’ in 2025.
UFC stars Mauricio Ruffy, Lerone Murphy, and Ilia Topuria are also close contenders for their finishes of King Green, Aaron Pico, and Charles Oliveira, respectively.

Elsewhere at FFC 99, Hector Almonacid and Jhon Rivera claimed interim gold at featherweight and flyweight in their respective bouts.
