Skip Bayless drops ‘nasty mess’ admission on Bucks amid Giannis drama
With just two games remaining on the schedule, the Milwaukee Bucks might be one of just a handful of teams happy for the season to come to an end. The saga between the organization and Giannis Antetokounmpo has seemingly been a distraction, and now Skip Bayless weighs in on the situation.
During a guest appearance on “Gil’s Arena,” Bayless calls the Bucks out for how quickly the franchise has fallen since winning the championship in 2021. The popular sports analyst also shares some details about the relationship between the Bucks and Antetokounmpo, revealing just how toxic it may have become.
“The Milwaukee Bucks in five years have gone from NBA champions to maybe the biggest mess I can remember in the history of the NBA,” said Bayless. “Because it’s not a funny mess. It’s a sorry, nasty mess. When Jimmy Haslem (Bucks owner) gets involved with the team, as he has been with the Cleveland Browns in the NFL, it turns toward clown show to me.
“[Giannis Antetokounmpo] got a Nike deal, if he plays 41 plus games, he ain’t gonna get there. So, that’s a big chunk of money that he’s not happy about losing. It appears to me it got so personal, he actually wants to play to try to win games to damage [the Bucks’] ping pong ball chances. Like, he wants to play to screw them.”

Antetokounmpo has only played 36 games this season. The Bucks are also under investigation by the league after the 13-year veteran claimed he was healthy to play, but the organization wasn’t allowing him to. Milwaukee claims that Giannis Antetokounmpo refused to participate in a three-on-three scrimmage as part of their return protocol.
Perhaps a departure will come to fruition in the offseason, but only time will tell. Antetokounmpo is not likely to appear in the final two games of the season. If that is the case, he ends the 2025-26 campaign averaging 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per contest while shooting 62.4% from the floor and 33.3% from beyond the arc.
