Shai Gilgeous-Alexander urged to go full Kobe Bryant to win Game 7

The Oklahoma City Thunder created tensions among their fans during Saturday’s epic Game 7. The San Antonio Spurs jumped on OKC and never went away. The Spurs’ effort persuaded this suggestion for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: Channel an inner-Kobe Bryant.

SGA already tied a previous NBA Playoffs best during the game. But Ashley Nicole Moss of CBS Sports dropped the Black Mamba suggestion for the Thunder star.

“SGA gotta get selfish. you’re the two-time MVP. Why are you passing to [Isaiah] Hartenstein?! go full Kobe Bryant,” Moss posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.

San Antonio led by as many as 14, but then took an 11-point lead with under eight minutes in the fourth, leading 97-86.

Gilgeous-Alexander carried most of the scoring for the Thunder. The two-time league Most Valuable Player dropped 31 points in his first 35 minutes. He dished out seven assists while also grabbing four rebounds.

OKC struggled to compliment him on the scoring end. Jared McCain delivered 12 points in 19 minutes. Jaylin Williams scored 11 points through 21 minutes on the floor. Key reserve Alex Caruso played 31 minutes, but scored just 10 points before the six-minute mark of the fourth quarter. Caruso also became involved in some physical moments during the game too including taking some hard fouls.

Oklahoma City fell behind 97-91 with 6:48 left. But no matter how much the Thunder responded, San Antonio retaliated with delivering a haymaker.

All the more reason SGA became suggested to take the Thunder on his back and carry them. Seeing he’s become the most dangerous scorer with a trip to the NBA Finals on the line.
