Norwich vs Burnley prediction

Norwich had a storming run at the back end of last season and were on the cusp of the playoffs, but have started the new league campaign with back-to-back losses.

But the Canaries beat Cardiff 2-1 in south Wales in the EFL Cup in midweek, bouncing back from their 3-0 mauling by Millwall in the league last weekend.

They entertain Burnley on Saturday, looking for their first win of the new Championship season under Phillipe Clement.

Burnley have also had a poor start to the campaign by their standards, under new boss Nicky Hayen. Forward Zian Flemming bailed them out against West Ham, but having lost to West Brom last weekend, they fell to a penalty shootout defeat to Bradford in the EFL Cup.

It sets this tie up to be massive for both clubs to kick-start their seasons with a first three points and revive confidence amongst the fans and players alike.

Norwich vs Burnley tips

Kvistgaarden in the goals

Matthias Kvistgaarden hasn’t always started under Clement, but the young Dane has scored both of Norwich’s goals so far this season.

The 24-year-old will be another year wiser after his debut campaign and will be a big threat to the Burnley defence.

Ahmedhozic in the book

Burnley signed the former Sheffield Utd defender Anel Ahmedhozic from Dutch side Feyenoord this summer.

He got five yellow cards and one red in the Eredivisie. The last time he was in the Championship with The Blades, he got 32 yellow cards across three seasons. Including 11 in his last campaign in 2024/25.

An accomplished defender at this level, but he could keep the referee busy on Saturday.

Points shared

It’s tough to split these two sides, especially with both having iffy starts to the season.

If Norwich can rediscover their spark from the back end of last season, they’ll be hard to stop. But Burnley still have one of the best squads of the division and if they keep hold of Flemming, they could edge it here.

But we’re backing the draw across both halves in an evenly contested game.
