Seahawks would make Notre Dame history with ESPN mock draft pick to replace Kenneth Walker III
The NCAA Tournament is now in the rearview mirror, and it is time to shift focus to the NFL Draft, which takes place in a couple of weeks. We are right in the middle of mock draft season, and ESPN’s Peter Schrager released his first of two mock drafts on Tuesday.
This is an interesting mock draft that has some shocks near the tail end of the first round. In Schrager’s first mock draft, the Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks, take a running back from Notre Dame with the 32nd pick to replace Kenneth Walker III. However, this RB is not Jeremiyah Love. If the Seahawks take Love’s backup Jadarian Price, then they would make Notre Dame history.
“Believe it or not, Notre Dame has never had two running backs selected in the first round of the same NFL draft. In fact, only three running back tandems from the same school have ever been selected in the first round in the same year. But Price is the No. 2 running back in this class and would provide some nice pop to the Seattle offense after the departure of Kenneth Walker III via free agency. He had only 113 carries last season but turned them into 674 yards and 11 scores.”
There is no doubt that Price would have been a starter at just about 90% of the schools out there. He remained at Notre Dame because they had a real shot at winning the National Championship the last few seasons. After they had made the title game in 2025 against Ohio State, Price and Love decided to stay a tandem for the Fighting Irish. Both had great seasons, and it was clear that Love would turn into an early first-rounder, and that will be the case. If Price is the second-best RB in the draft, then the Seahawks should take a chance on him to be the backup to Zach Charbonnet.
Here are three players that the reigning champions should avoid taking in the draft.
