Panthers’ Bryce Young get Daniel Jones contract prediction before pivotal 2026 season

Bryce Young made significant progress after three years in the NFL, looking forward to Year 4 with the Carolina Panthers.

Young has been through ups and downs within his first three years, even losing his starting job in 2024 before earning it back. The 2025 season marked his best to date, looking to build on that ahead of the 2026 campaign.

ESPN analyst Dan Graziano provided his thoughts on the Panthers’ 2026 campaign. He sees them in the mix of playoff contention but believes they will fall short of the cut due to improvement in competition.

“The Panthers have a season similar to 2025 (maybe a little bit better) but miss the playoffs because their division got stronger around them. Young continues to show signs that he can be the guy, and without another obvious option, the Panthers extend him next spring with a contract that falls closer to the Daniel Jones range in terms of average annual salary than it does to the Dak Prescott tier,” Graziano wrote.

What lies ahead for Bryce Young, Panthers this season

The Panthers hope for Bryce Young to take steps in the right direction. They want to remain competitive in the playoff picture, an objective they hope can continue happening with Young as the starting quarterback.

Young went 8-8 in his 16 starts last season. He completed 304 passes for 3,011 yards and 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He also made 54 rushes for 216 yards and two touchdowns. In the playoffs, he completed 21 throws for 274 yards and one touchdown and an interception.

They will attempt to improve on their 8–9 record from 2025. They also plan to make the playoffs and win the NFC South for the second consecutive season and put an end to eight consecutive losing seasons.

The Panthers will look forward to their season opener, being at home. They host the Chicago Bears as kickoff takes places on Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. ET.
