Josh Hader reveals Astrps’ eye-popping fantasy football buy-in

One has to have a little deeper pocket to join the Houston Astros’ fantasy football league. Houston star closer Josh Hader, who signed a five-year, $95 million contract with the Astros in 2024, recently talked about the Astros’ league and even revealed the buy-in price during an appearance on Foul Territory.

Hader said that the buy-in is $2,500. While it’s not a lot to someone like Hader, who earns millions of dollars a year, it’s still quite a lot for ordinary Joes. Hader said that they set that amount in order to get everyone in, even the guys who don’t have the same pay grade as the stars.

“I think the biggest thing is like when you get these leagues that are like eight to 10 grand, it’s like, for what? I mean, it’s just crazy. Because then you start stressing. It’s because it’s like, it’s, I mean, $2,500 is a lot of money,” Hader shared.

“But at the same time, it’s like, man, like, you can get everybody on the team involved. And like, that’s what you want. You want to you want to be able to trash talk in the offseason and be able to come back and spring training. And, you know, obviously, hopefully you’re not the last person at the bottom. But hey, that’s what you’re fighting for first place.”

Speaking of which, Hader and the Astros are trying to keep their hold of the top spot in the American League West, with the Texas Rangers and the Seattle Mariners breathing down their necks in the standings.
