Seahawks add a safety with Nick Emmanwori questionable for Patriots rematch
The Seattle Seahawks aren’t taking any chances with their safety depth hours before kicking off the 2026 NFL season.
With Nick Emmanwori officially questionable for Wednesday night’s Super Bowl rematch against the New England Patriots, Seattle signed safety A.J. Finley from the practice squad to the active roster and elevated Rodney Thomas II, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The moves give Seattle some much-needed insurance in the secondary. Emmanwori has been dealing with an ankle injury after undergoing arthroscopic surgery during the offseason. He was limited in practice leading into Week 1, and the Seahawks also ruled out safety Ty Okada because of a hamstring injury.
