Scottie Scheffler makes real confession after 65 on day 3 of Masters
Scottie Scheffler did not play the like the Masters favorite through the first two rounds of the first major tournament of the year. However, after trailing by 12 strokes after 36 holes, Scheffler found his game on Moving Day and fired a 7 under par 65 to shoot his way back into contention.
“Feel like I left a few shots out there, but overall it was a good day. We’ll see what happens this afternoon, but I don’t feel like I’m out of the Tournament.”

Scheffler has won the Masters twice in his career and he appears to have an excellent chance to fight for a third crown. Rory McIlroy, who led the tournament by six strokes after two rounds, stumbled on Saturday and no longer had the lead as he negotiated the treacherous back nine at Augusta National.
Scheffler was very happy with his round, and he said his round could have been even better if he had not left a couple of strokes on the course.
“I thought I played a lot better in the second round than I scored,” Scheffler said to CBS interviewer Amanda Balionis. “I got a few things done early in the round today. I feel like I left a few shots out there, but overall it was a good day. We’ll see what happens this afternoon, but I don’t feel like I’m out of the Tournament.”
Scheffler served notice that his third round would be a memorable one when he fired an eagle 3 on the par-5 second hole. He played par golf for the next four holes before he turned it on with three straight birdies to close out the front.
The top-ranked golfer in the world avoided trouble on the back nine and birdied the 11th and 16th holes that allowed him to post a score that was nine strokes better than his second round number.
