Savvy Cade Cunningham move in Pistons-Cavs draws priceless reaction from Donovan Mitchell
Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons looked to regain control of their second-round series against the Cleveland Cavaliers as they hosted Game 5 at Little Caesars Arena on Wednesday.
It was a nip-and-tuck affair from the get-go, as both teams understood how pivotal the stakes were after being tied after four games.
Cunningham has been having a phenomenal run against the Cavaliers, and he made sure to remind Donovan Mitchell about it via a savvy move.
With the veteran guard on his hip, Cunningham faked out the hand-off with Paul Reed and retreated to the three-point line, leaving Mitchell scrambling for the contest. It was too late. Cunningham buried the long bomb.

Mitchell’s face as he realized what was happening said it all.
Unfortunately, the Pistons fell short in overtime, 117-113, as the Cavaliers took a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven affair. Cleveland has now won three straight games.
Detroit pulled within two, 113-111, with only 26 seconds left after Cunningham’s bucket. The Cavaliers, however, took care of business from the free-throw line to seal the victory and move a win away from advancing to the conference finals.
Cunningham had a valiant effort with a game-high 39 points, seven rebounds, nine assists, and two steals. He shot 13-of-27 from the field, including 6-of-10 from beyond the arc.
Mitchell had 21 points, four rebounds, and three assists.
Ausar Thompson forced overtime after blocking the layup of Mitchell in the final play of regulation.
The Pistons will try to save their season in Game 6 at Rocket Arena on Friday.
