NFL tabs Jonas Brothers for historic Rams-49ers Australia game

The halftime show for the NFL’s first game in Australia between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers will feature a performance by the Jonas Brothers.

The NFL announced that the JoBros will be headlining the halftime show for the historic game at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday, Sep. 10.

This will be the Jonas Brothers’ first performance after their three-night stand at Madison Square Garden from Aug. 20 to 22. They haven’t performed in Australia since March 2024. The MSG shows are in celebration of the Burning Up Tour. The original Burning Up Tour ran from July 4, 2008, to Mar. 22, 2009.

It has been a busy last couple of years for the Jonas Brothers since their reunion in 2019. They have embarked on four headlining tours and also starred in Camp Rock 3, the long-awaited sequel to the 2010 movie Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.

The NFL’s historic Australia game

Sep. 10 will be groundbreaking for the NFL. It marks the first-ever game played in Australia, and it will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Kickoff is set for 10:35 am AEST on Friday, Sep. 11, which is at 8:35 pm EST on Thursday, Sep. 10.

The Rams and the 49ers are playing in the second game of the year. One day earlier, a Super Bowl 60 rematch between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks officially starts the regular season.

Netflix will broadcast the game live on the streaming service. Noah Eagle and Luke Kuechly, who is making his debut as a booth analyst, will call the game. MJ Acosta-Ruiz will be the sideline reporter, and Elle Duncan will lead the pregame, halftime, and postgame coverage from the studio. Michael Irvin, Nick Foles, and Clay Matthews III will join Duncan in the studio.

Luckily, both the Rams and the 49ers have extended breaks before their next games. The Niners will host the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Sep. 20, and the Rams host the New York Giants for a Monday Night Football matchup on Sep. 21.
