Saints signing 2-time Raiders All-Pro after failed competition
The New Orleans Saints do not look ready for the regular season. New Orleans played without much discipline in their preseason loss to Los Angeles. Fortunately, the Saints’ coaching staff just made one smart move that should be a big upgrade to their special teams unit.
The Saints are signing two-time All-Pro kicker Daniel Carlson, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. Carlson spent the last eight seasons with the Raiders before being released back in March.
New Orleans turned to Carlson after holding a kicking competition between Tanner Brown and Charlie Smyth.
