Rory McIlroy put on the spot by Travis Kelce’s Mt. Rushmore question

Rory McIlroy will head into this week’s PGA Championship at the Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania with momentum on his side.

He is fresh from an inspired performance in the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia, where he defended his title after a one-stroke win over Scottie Scheffler.

McIlroy’s third crown in the PGA Championship has been elusive, as he has not ruled the tournament since 2014.

But before competing, he found the time to guest on the podcast of Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce, “New Heights,” where they tackled almost everything about golf, family life, and his cameo appearance on “The Devil Wears Prada 2.”

Travis put McIlroy on the spot by asking him his Mt. Rushmore of golf courses. The six-time major champion had to think hard before revealing his list.

“I’ll go four different places. Kingston Heath in Australia, Royal County Down in Northern Ireland, I would do Pine Valley on the East Coast, and I would do Cypress Point,” said the 37-year-old golfer.

“I’m leaving so many great golf courses. It’s hard to do four. But yeah, those would be the four off the top of my head.”

The Kelce brothers, being avid golf fans, were familiar with some of McIlroy’s answers. They might want to schedule a game in one of them when McIlroy is not busy winning trophies left and right.

Travis has competed in celebrity tournaments, including the American Century Championship and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

McIlroy will look to become the sixth golfer to win three titles in the PGA Championship, joining Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Walter Hagen, Brooks Koepka, Sam Snead, and Gene Sarazen.

He will look to dethrone Scheffler, who conquered the tournament for the first time last year.
