Bears’ Ben Johnson looked super thrilled announcing new Hallmark Christmas movie

The forthcoming team featured in the NFL-themed Christmas movie from Hallmark has been determined, and Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson seemed overjoyed to make the announcement.

That’s right — da Bears will be featured in this year’s Holiday Touchdown movie from Hallmark, following in the footsteps of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills.

He and tight end Colston Loveland appeared in the Bears’ social media announcement of the movie. The coach spoke from his office, and he didn’t appear thrilled to be making the announcement, leaving one fan to quip, “Ben Johnson so pissed admin took him away from watching film to take part in this.”

However, he did promise that “my wife Jessica and I will definitely be tuning in for this one.” Still, that didn’t stop someone from commenting, “looks like he’s reading a ransom note,” on the post.

Johnson is heading into his second season as the Bears’ head coach. He previously gained notoriety for his time as the Detroit Lions’ offensive coordinator. The Bears reached the Divisional Round of the playoffs in Johnson’s first year, losing to the Los Angeles Rams.

This year’s Holiday Touchdown will be released later in 2026. A specific release date wasn’t announced yet. However, the team’s announcement stated it will premiere during Hallmark Channel’s 17th annual Countdown to Christmas programming event.

Filming will commence this summer, and the announcement promised that it “will film entirely at locations in and around Chicago, showcasing iconic locations.”

Fans will have to wait and see which players end up making cameos in the movie. Players on the Chiefs and the Bills previously made appearances in the movies about their respective teams.

Originally, it appeared Hallmark was trying to capitalize on the hype of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship with the first Holiday Touchdown movie. However, it has spawned a franchise that is going on its third entry.
