Conor Benn shows off body transformation amid weight cut for Ryan Garcia fight

Conor Benn has began the process of shedding weight to face Ryan Garcia and already looks far leaner.

Benn is preparing to drop from 160lbs back down to 147lbs for the biggest fight of his career so far.

He will take on Ryan Garcia in a bid to become world champion for the first time on September 12 in Las Vegas.

‘The Destroyer’ hasn’t fought at the weight in several fights, with focus instead on his two-fight rivalry with Chris Eubank Jr, before beating Regis Prograis at 154lbs in April.

But the British star always intended on returning to the division in a bid to capture world glory.

Training has already been going on for Benn, who has been working hard to prepare for the clash, one month out from fight night.

And on social media, Benn has already shown off the weight he has shifted already, with a huge cut to make the 147lbs limit.

He first posted a picture of his larger and bulkier looking physique, captioning it that it was when he walked around at 183lbs.

Benn suggested that was roughly what he walked about and entered his fight with Eubank Jr at following rehydration.

It was attached with a picture of his physique now where he looked far leaner, and closer to his build several years ago during his rise.

Benn himself wrote with the pictures: “Sacrifice – Reward.”

It is clear the challenger is leaving no stone unturned in pursuit of the famous green and gold belt, with his father Nigel holding the middleweight version of it in 1992 until 1996.

Benn’s weight – will he stay at welterweight?

Benn has returned to a weight, which many within his camp suggested may hold his long-term future.

But after fighting at higher limits it appears his outings will likely land elsewhere.

During his recent camp, Benn has already admitting he is struggling with the gruelling trimming down process.

And the 29-year-old has already confirmed his decision that it will be his final outing at welterweight against Garcia.

He said: “Yeah, it’s hard. It’s brutal.

“This is my last fight at 147. When I win the world title, I’ll move on.

“But for me, I haven’t made 147 for four years. So, it’s challenging.

“It’s really hard. You think I went up to 183 [fight night weight] for the Eubank fights, you know, so it’s hard, but we’re getting it done.”

Several options could emerge at higher weights for Benn, particularly if he beats Garcia, with him now already opening the door to a trilogy with Eubank Jr at 168lbs.
