Recent WWE main roster addition calls out The Rock for a match

While he is still a relatively new Superstar, WWE’s Ethan Page wants to face Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in a match someday, calling out the “Final Boss.”

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Page discussed his relationship with The Rock. He said, “I mean, there’s nothing else that I need to do, unless he wants to have a match with me,” which prompted Van Vliet to ask if he was “calling him out.”

“Sure, why not? I’ll get you some clicks, Chris. Come on, Rock, put your little underwear on. Let’s do it. Everybody wants to see your hamstrings,” he said.

Will The Rock ever face Ethan Page in WWE?

It’s unlikely that The Rock and Page will ever face each other in WWE. For one, it has been over two years since the “Final Boss” last competed in a match. If and when he ever does return, he has two storylines ready to go.

For years, WWE has been teasing a match between The Rock and Roman Reigns. It looked like it was going to happen in 2024 before the #WeWantCody movement occurred, resulting in Cody Rhodes, not The Rock, challenging Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40.

Since then, the “Final Boss” has made sporadic appearances, seemingly hinting at matchups against Reigns and Rhodes. However, neither has come to fruition yet.

As professional wrestling has taught fans for decades, never say never. Clearly, Page has a relationship with The Rock, so maybe a match will happen someday.

Page was recently called up to the main roster, joining Monday Night RAW in April 2026. He had spent most of the previous two years in NXT, WWE’s developmental brand.

Before joining WWE, Page was best known for his work in Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling, and AEW. He has also done work for Evolve.
