Real reason WWE WrestleMania 43’s original location changed before Saudi Arabia pivot

A new report has suggested that WWE WrestleMania 43’s original location was the future home of the Tennessee Titans, New Nissan Stadium.

FOX17 reports that originally, WrestleMania 43 was due to take place at New Nissan Stadium, which is set to open in 2027. This was said by “leaders” of the Titans and Nashville tourism groups.

The construction of the stadium was supposed to be completed by February 2027, meaning WrestleMania 43 would’ve been one of the first big events held there.

Reporter Johnny Maffei reached out to Visit Music City, and they said that “the date didn’t work out, and we are looking at future years.”

This is somewhat encouraging. At least WWE is seemingly talking about having a future WrestleMania event in Nashville. The last major PLE to take place there was SummerSlam in 2022.

Where will WrestleMania 43 take place?

WrestleMania 43 is set to take place in 2027 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is the first time the annual event will take place outside of North America. This is the latest chapter in WWE and Saudi Arabia’s ongoing 10-year partnership.

WWE just held the 2026 Royal Rumble in Riyadh as well on Jan. 31, 2026. WrestleMania 42 was then held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, from Apr. 18-19.

This marked the second year in a row WWE held WrestleMania there. Initially, the show was supposed to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, before WWE decided to return to Sin City.

New Nissan Stadium has been under construction since Feb. 29, 2024. The stadium replaces the original Nissan Stadium, which will be demolished after the new venue is complete.

The original Nissan Stadium has been open for more than a quarter-century since Aug. 27, 1999. The Titans have played there since. The Tennessee State Tigers still play there as well, and the Music City Bowl is held there annually.
