Ravens’ Lamar Jackson drops ‘extraordinary’ take on joining forces with Trey Hendrickson

The Baltimore Ravens landed Trey Hendrickson in free agency to help improve the defensive line for next season and beyond. It was a move that brought a former inter-divisional opponent onto the roster, and nobody is happier to have the former Cincinnati Bengal as a teammate than Lamar Jackson.

During an interview with Jacob Hester on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Wednesday, the 29-year-old quarterback admitted how thrilled he is to have Hendrickson playing in Baltimore. Jackson claimed the soon-to-be 10-year veteran edge rusher is making life difficult in training camp, but he’s looking forward to Hendrickson causing chaos for the Ravens’ opponents this coming season.

“Just to have him on our side, man, and don’t have to face him twice a year, it’s extraordinary,” Jackson said about Hendrickson. “I’m loving it… He’s just a wreck. He’s doing the job at a high pace. I’m glad he’s on our team. I’m glad he’s on our team.

“He’s gonna make the opposing teams’ difficult on offense,” Jackson continued. “He’s already making our life difficult on offense in training camp, and, man, it’s ridiculous. It’s ridiculous with him. I love it. I love it, though.”

Trey Hendrickson signed a four-year, $112 million contract with the Ravens in free agency this offseason, with $60 million fully guaranteed. He signed with Baltimore after two straight years of failed contract extension talks with the Bengals.

The four-time Pro Bowler aims to bounce back in the 2026-27 campaign after hip, pelvis, and core muscle injuries limited him to just seven games last season. He joins the Ravens with 236 combined tackles (162 solo), 81.0 sacks, and 15 forced fumbles accumulated in his career.
