Ravens’ Derrick Henry will ‘worry about retirement s**t later’ after viral Kay Adams clip

The Baltimore Ravens have started a new era with Jesse Minter as the head coach. Their offense will be under close watch after a sluggish season last year, and that includes at the running back position. Ravens running back Derrick Henry is entering the twilight of his career, but he wanted to clear up his plans to retire after a recent viral clip.

The saga starts with an interview Henry gave to FanDuel TV’s Kay Adams during training camp. Adams spoke about the idyllic nature of the Ravens’ training camp facility and how it would be a great place for Henry to end his career. The running back responded, “What other place would it be better to retire than a castle? When I’m done playing, I want to be done playing here. When I hang it up, Baltimore will be the last place I want to be.”

The ‘Up & Adams’ social media page posted that clip with the caption, “RB Derrick Henry wants to retire as a Raven.” The future Hall of Famer took to X to take exception, “I would like to finish my playing career with Ravens. I never said anything about retiring lol, I’m enjoying being a Raven. I’ll worry about that retirement sh* later.”

After an incredible college career, Henry spent eight incredible seasons with the Tennessee Titans. He has reached 1,500 yards in each of his two seasons with the Ravens, including a 1.900-yard 2024 campaign. He is the active leader in carries, yards, and rushing touchdowns.

But even at 32 years old, Henry has no plans to retire anytime soon. He was great last year even on a disappointing Ravens team. Henry should be a key piece of the Baltimore offense this year as they look to return to the postseason. Can he put up his 6th 1,500-yard season this year?
