Chargers’ Justin Herbert destroyed for viral Madison Beer training camp video

Not everyone loved the viral moment from Los Angeles Chargers training camp involving engaged couple Justin Herbert and Madison Beer, especially not the First Things First crew.

During the Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, edition of First Things First, the crew discussed the video that showed Beer playing with Herbert’s hair at training camp.

“Listen, I understand everyone wants to be Travis [Kelce] and Taylor [Swift] — I get it; I don’t blame you. They never did this at the practice field. What is happening here?” he said, laughing. “And you know what? I’m not afraid of the Madison Beer fan army because I’ve got the Swifties on my side, and they roll deeper than these folks.

“You can’t have more videos of your girlfriend fixing your hair than playoff wins when you’ve been in the league [for] seven years. You can’t,” he doubled down.

Chris Broussard, who is a fan of Herbert, then weighed in, saying, “This has to be a joke.” He couldn’t wrap his head around the situation, saying, “You can’t let that happen, I’m sorry. I get it — you’re in love and all that, but come on!”

Ultimately, Broussard was wondering where Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh and offensive coordinate Mike McDaniel were while this was happening.

Obviously, it is a very exciting time for Beer and Herbert. They announced their engagement right before the Chargers’ training camp commenced.

The news of their engagement came about a year after they were first linked. Herbert was seen on the set of one of her music videos in August 2025. It would be a little while after that until they went public with their relationship.

Over the summer, Herbert and Beer made the most of the Chargers’ offseason. The quarterback traveled around Europe with his then-girlfriend, who was launching her Locket Tour. Now, they are engaged and looking ahead to their future.
