World Darts Championship set to break stunning record as new ticket procedure introduced

The World Darts Championship is shaking up its ticketing system as record numbers are expected for the 2026/2027 event.

The biggest event in the darting calendar takes place at the Alexandra Palace from December 11 to January 3.

However, there is a major change for this year as it will be held in the venue’s Great Hall for the first time.

This means a record 180,000 tickets will be on offer and demand is expected to be huge.

How to buy World Darts Championship tickets?

The other major change in the 2026/27 event is that it is moving to a ballot system.

The ballot will take place in two stages, with PDCTV Annual Members receiving an exclusive priority window, giving them an increased opportunity to secure tickets ahead of the General Ballot opening.

The PDCTV Annual Membership costs £59.99 for a 12 month subscription.

To be eligible, fans must be a member by 23.59 BST on Sunday, August 30.

The PDC Annual Members ballot then opens at 12:00 BST on Tuesday September 1 until Monday, September 7.

The general ballot opens on 12:00 BST on Tuesday, September 8 and closes at 23:59 BST on Monday, September 14.

The 19-year-old continues to dominate the darts scene and has already won the World Masters, UK Open, World Matchplay and Premier League in 2026.

He also lifted the World Cup alongside Luke Humphries for the first time.

Littler’s dominance is shown in the current world rankings as he is more than £2m in prize money clear of his nearest rival.

The Nuke has £3.127m to his name in his unassailable lead as world no.1.

Van Veen is second over Humphries by a mere £2000, with both a shade over £1m.

Gerwyn Price is a distant fourth with £722,500.
