Caitlin Clark’s injury status for Fever’s showdown vs. A’ja Wilson, Aces

The Indiana Fever will try to return to the win column when they host the Las Vegas Aces at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday. It will be a battle of two of the league’s biggest teams, featuring marquee players in Caitlin Clark and A’ja Wilson.

The Fever are coming off a painful loss to the Minnesota Lynx, 108-100, on Sunday, which nearly broke the WNBA’s viewership record. The Aces, meanwhile, are fresh from a lopsided victory over the Atlanta Dream, 109-87, on Monday.

Clark has been on a hot stretch, producing all-around numbers over two weeks. She, however, is still bothered by a back injury, and her status against the Aces could be a last-minute situation.

Caitlin Clark’s injury status vs. Aces

Clark was listed as probable versus Las Vegas, according to the WNBA’s injury report.

Against the Lynx, she tallied a double-double of 19 points and 11 assists. She was outshone by Olivia Miles, who exploded for 28 points, four rebounds, and six assists.

The 24-year-old Clark has missed four games this season due to her back injury. She is averaging 21.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 8.0 assists, helping the Fever to a 19-11 record, including 11-5 at home.

If the three-time All-Star cannot suit up, Indiana won’t be too worried, as Kelsey Mitchell has been lighting it up. She dropped 37 points on 14-of-21 shooting, including 6-of-8 from long distance, against the Lynx. Mitchell is averaging 24.0 points this season, the league’s second-best behind Wilson’s 26.6 points.

It will be the third meeting between Indiana and Las Vegas. The Fever won the first two by an average margin of 25 points.
