Tottenham in line for seven-figure windfall from possible West Ham transfer

West Ham United are pushing hard to sign Troy Parrott, talkSPORT understands.

The former Tottenham Hotspur man is in demand after two prolific seasons at AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie.

Parrott has netted 51 goals in 95 appearances for AZ since his move from Spurs in 2024.

talkSPORT reported last week that Fulham, Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, Real Betis and Como have shown interest in the Republic of Ireland star.

West Ham have now entered the race for the £25million-rated striker.

His ex-club Spurs are also understood to be in line for a 20 per cent share of any transfer fee, so could earn around £5m from a move.

West Ham were given a massive boost in their bid to win promotion from the Championship when Jarrod Bowen signed a new deal.

The Hammers have committed their future to the club with a revised contract until 2030.

However, he can leave for as little as £15m next summer if West Ham miss out on promotion at the first time of asking.

Sales of Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville in deals worth a combined £153m have generated some much-needed income.

Academy graduate Freddie Potts has also left for Club Brugge in a £10m move, although his exit has been touted as a ‘mistake’.

West Ham have been quiet in terms of incomings, but Joel Veltman is understood to be close to signing on a free transfer.

Parrott could be second through the door in what would be a coup for the east Londoners.

West Ham begin their 2026/27 campaign on Saturday afternoon in the Carabao Cup against Portsmouth, live on talkSPORT.

Their Championship opener follows on August 16 as they take on fellow relegated side Burnley.

Many fans will already be looking towards their first match against arch-rivals Millwall, who they haven’t played since 2012.
