Patriots’ AJ Brown earns ‘best wide receiver’ nod at joint practices with Eagles

AJ Brown is one of the best wide receivers in the current NFL landscape. And there’s no doubt about it. As soon as the New England Patriots star touched down in the joint practice session with his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, praise started pouring in. ESPN’s national reporter Sal Paolantonio shared his observation after attending the joint practice between the two teams.

“A.J. Brown far and away today, for both teams, was the best wide receiver on the field,” Paolantonio said during his conversation on NFL on ESPN.

Undoubtedly, he is the most talked-about football player in the practice camp. Brown joined the Patriots after his recent trade from the Eagles. The Eagles traded him in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round draft pick and a 2028 first-round draft pick on June 1 to the Patriots.

Ever since his trade, there has been animosity all over between him and his former camp. Brown’s relationship with Jalen Hurts has also been highly publicized. He recently mentioned that he hasn’t spoken with Hurts since the trade took place.

Additionally, a video recently went viral where social media critics thought he intentionally ignored shaking hands with one of the Eagles players. However, Brown was stomping towards his team while someone tried dapping him and missed. Though he also made a slight movement to dap back, he ran past the player as he was pacing.

The anticipation is higher than normal for the upcoming preseason game where these two teams meet. The Patriots will host the Eagles on Saturday, August 22, at their home ground in Gillette Stadium for the preseason game.
