Jamie O’Hara threatens to ‘take Jason Cundy’s head off’ in explosive row over Tottenham
Jamie O’Hara reacted furiously to Jason Cundy’s suggestion he should be happy with Tottenham finishing 10th this season.
Former Spurs midfielder O’Hara has repeatedly insisted his old club ‘are back’ amid their substantial summer business – but, not for the first time, Cundy was having none of it.

O’Hara and Cundy lock horns
The ex-Chelsea defender, who also played for Spurs, told O’Hara he ought to temper his expectations following Tottenham’s back-to-back 17th-placed finishes in the Premier League.
O’Hara, however, was similarly derisory about Cundy’s claim Chelsea will win the title.
Joining Cundy on a heated edition of The Sports Bar, O’Hara challenged his co-host, saying: “I think it’s a bit rich you coming here trying to dig out Spurs fans for being hopeful and realistic about where we believe we can finish with them two top players [talkSPORT understands Tottenham are working on a double deal for Manchester City duo Savinho and Omar Marmoush] when you literally come on here, your first show back, and said that Chelsea are going to win the league.”
Cundy retorted: “Yeah, because we’ve won it [before].”
A fuming O’Hara interjected: “I’m not saying we’re going to win the Premier League. I’m saying we can finish in the top four. We’ve finished in the top four multiple times, so I’m not saying something we ain’t done.”
But Cundy told him he should be happy with a mid-table finish, urging: “Jay, Jay, 10th. Take 10th.”
O’Hara continued in furious fashion: “Don’t sit here and say, ‘Oh well, we’ve won the Premier League’. We’ve finished in the top four before. We can do that again.”
Cundy was not backing down, though, insisting: “Jay, if I give you 10th now, you’re taking it. You’re taking my arm off.”
“I’m not taking your arm off for 10th,” O’Hara replied dismissively.
“Both arms,” Cundy offered in response – which tipped O’Hara over the edge.
‘I’ll take your head off’
“I’ll take your head off if you carry on talking crap,” he raged “No, no, seriously, don’t annoy me.”
Eventually, after admitted he ‘really wanted to swear’ at Cundy, O’Hara had had enough and walked out of the studio – much to his colleague’s derision.
New-look Tottenham
Spurs have made six senior signings so far this summer, bringing in the likes of Sandro Tonali and Andy Robertson.
However, former Watford striker Troy Deeney told talkSPORT Tottenham have actually made their squad weaker.
In any case, there is just over a week-and-a-half to go in the transfer window, which shuts for Premier League clubs at 11pm BST on Tuesday, September 1.
Spurs and Blues about to get going again
The new Premier League season gets underway on Friday night, with Tottenham and Chelsea both in action in the following days.
And both sides begin the campaign with London derbies: Spurs travel to Brentford on Saturday evening and the Blues, in their first competitive game under new manager Xabi Alonso, are away to local rivals Fulham on Monday night.
