Noah Lyles, Junelle Bromfield get married in Georgia
Olympians Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield are married!
Lyles and Bromfield tied the knot on April 4 at The Conservatory at Blackberry Ridge in Trenton, Georgia. The fellow newlyweds, who had their wedding captured by Vogue, and the publication shared that they infused their cultures throughout the celebration.
“The wedding blended American and Jamaican traditions in honor of the athlete couple’s respective backgrounds, with a special performance by gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard and plenty of dancing,” Vogue captioned the photo set on Instagram.
“It was definitely a ceremony of unity,” Bromfield told Vogue. “It was just amazing to see the different cultures mesh into one. Everybody was having fun, interacting, and filled with love.”
The theme of the wedding was “All Shades of Melanin,” with every piece intentionally designed to honor their cultures. Bromfield wore a Pantora Bridal ceremony ball gown while her bridesmaids wore brown dresses. She picked the designer because “the owner is Jamaican,” explaining to The Knot at the time, “I wanted to support another Black woman from my community.”
As for Lyles, he wore a deep chocolate suit designed by Musika for the ceremony, with the groomsmen matching with different shades of brown created by the same designer, according to Vogue.
The wedding was filled with a lot of emotional moments, which began light-hearted as Bromfield told the magazine that, “I heard I didn’t walk down the aisle. I heard that I ran.”
The couple continued to add that their happiness was overwhelmed by emotion with the gold Olympic medalist sharing he was prepared to shed some tears on his big day.
“I already knew I was gonna cry, I just didn’t know when. But when Janelle read the title of her vows, I was like, ‘Oh, yep, this is the part. This is when I cry.’ Her hands shook so much that she couldn’t hold the vow book, so I ended up holding it for her. But I was also crying, so I couldn’t wipe away my own tears. It was a super magical moment,” Lyles shared.
The couple essentially grew up together in the sport as they attended several track events together and both went onto become Olympians. While they were around one another they didn’t connect until about 2017 or 2018 when Bromfield slid in his DMs.
“Junelle decided to slide into my DMs, asking me the question, ‘Do you cook?’ And so from there, it led to a very long seven-year story of us eventually meeting, falling in love, being able to be with each other, not being able to be with each other, and then finally getting into a relationship where we have always stayed together—and now have gotten married,” the groom told Vogue.
Lyles and Bromfield began dating in 2022, and he proposed back in October 2024. After the proposal, he had shared with People that he was going to “wing” his wedding vows.
“I have a bet going on with my brother’s girlfriend,” Lyles told People at the time. “I told her about two years ago that I would wing my vows, and I stand true to that.”
