NBA rumors: Bill Simmons would ‘bet life’ on Warriors stealing LeBron James from Lakers

The Golden State Warriors will do whatever they can to improve their team this offseason, and that might include going after LeBron James. The Los Angeles Lakers star will be a free agent next month, and there will be several teams looking to bring him to their team, as he may not have many years left in the league.

The Warriors have been rumored to be one of the teams interested, and Bill Simmons thinks there’s a good chance that they will steal him from the Lakers.

“Before we get to Giannis, LeBron, what happens with that is a good one. This one is a really fun one because the Warriors is really in play now, like for real. I really feel like if I had to bet my life on a team, I’d think I would bet on them . . . I think that would be the move for me,” Simmons said on his podcast.

Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints noted that the Warriors are a team that has an interest in adding James to their team this offseason, and it has been a dream of Joe Lacob’s.

“That one outside team that we keep bringing up are the Golden State Warriors,” Siegel said. “They have always lerked for LeBron pretty much since 2020 — he has been on Joe Lacob’s wishlist as being a player that they want to pair with Stephen Curry at the end of their respective careers.”

Everyone would love to see Curry and James on the same team, but that means the Warriors would have to make some moves in order for it to happen. They probably wouldn’t be able to keep everybody on the roster, especially if James is asking for a certain amount of money.

That’s the one reason why things may lead back to James returning to the Lakers.
