Mike Brown will love Mikal Bridges literally letting dog out at Knicks championship parade
After a long wait of almost 53 years, the New York Knicks finally won the NBA Championship. In a dominating finals win over the San Antonio Spurs, the Knicks were able to secure their first championship in nearly five decades, and all thanks to coach Mike Brown and MVP Jalen Brunson.
Following a thrilling 94-90 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5, the Knicks coach, Mike Brown, was heard screaming, “Who let the dogs out? Who, who, who?!” during their locker room celebration.
Now, just days after their Championship win, coach Brown might just love Mikal Bridges’ gesture. Knicks star player Mikal Bridges literally brought the dog out during their recent Championship win parade.
Mikal Bridges was always interested in bringing his dog out to the floaters for their parade. Appearing on Good Morning America alongside Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, and OG Anunoby, Bridges was asked by Michael Strahan what he was looking forward to during their parade. “I just want to bring my dog on the float. That’s it,” Bridges said.
Bridges is the owner of an eight-year-old Labrador, Sonny, who regularly appears on the Bridges’ social media accounts. While previously concerns remained about Sonny’s appearance at the parade, Bridges later confirmed that his request had been granted. “It’s official: Sonny’s got a spot on the float. See y’all tomorrow!”
And, now, going viral on the internet, Bridges was seen standing with Sonny before the start of the parade. This will be the Knicks’ first championship celebration since 1973.
