Mark Daigneault refuses to make injury excuses for Thunder Game 7 loss to Spurs
OKLAHOMA CITY — Without starter Jalen Williams and Ajay Mitchell, the Oklahoma City Thunder lost 111-103 in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals to the San Antonio Spurs, but head coach Mark Daigneault isn’t making any excuses. The Thunder battled adversity through various injuries to key player en route to the best regular-season record in the NBA.
Daigneault has always been adament about the Thunder never feeling sorry for themselves, which is why he kept that same energy after watching his season end in Game 7 against the Spurs.
“We have not been an excuse team ever,” Daigneault said. “We’re not going to start now.”
After losing Game 7, it’ll be interesting to see the kind of tweaks the Thunder front office could make during the offseason.
