Marcos Senesi in advanced talks to join Premier League side on stunning free transfer

Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Marcos Senesi, talkSPORT understands.

The Bournemouth defender is out of contract at the end of the season and has already informed the Cherries he does not plan to extend his stay.

Senesi’s impending availability put a number of top Premier League and European clubs on red alert.

talkSPORT reported earlier in the week how both Spurs and Manchester United were keen on the 28-year-old.

Meanwhile Juventus and Atletico Madrid are also known to be admirers of the Argentina international.

But it appears Tottenham have shot to the front of the queue.

It is understood the north London outfit are in advanced talks to sign Senesi in the summer.

However, the deal hinges on Tottenham’s status as a Premier League club.

Spurs sit 18th in the top flight with six games remaining and are two points away from safety.
