Lynx’s Napheesa Collier gets 100% real about Olivia Miles’ standout trait

The Minnesota Lynx have seen their 2026 rookie Olivia Miles get off to a historic start in the WNBA. Through her first three games in the league, Miles is averaging 16.3 points, seven assists, roughly 3.7 rebounds and one block per game, becoming the first player in WNBA history with 45+ points and 20+ assists in their first three games.

And well, Napheesa Collier, who has sat out of Minnesota’s first three games after undergoing surgery on her left ankle, already likes what she sees, per a post on X by Minnesota Lynx.

“I mean she has something you can’t teach, which is, just the vision to see something before it’s about to happen. She knows where people are about to be, before they’re there. And that’s something, like I said, you have to be born with that. And she is,” she said.

Miles has already broken multiple records and has taken to the WNBA like fish to water. After scoring 15 points in the recent win over the Dallas Wings, she joined Sue Bird, Candace Parker, Caitlin Clark and Nikki McCray as the only WNBA stars to average at least 15 points and five assists in their first three games.

Further, she became only the third player in league history to record at least 10 points and five assists in each of her first three games, a list which previously only included Bird and Parker. The No. 2 pick of the 2026 draft, always showed elite vision and awareness, even in college. During her final season at TCU, Miles averaged 19.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game, finishing her college career with 12 triple-doubles, trailing only Sabrina Ionescu and Caitlin Clark on the all-time NCAA list.

Miles is a tenacious defender, something which also seems to have translated from college basketball. And while young stars often take time to adjust to the WNBA’s pace and physicality, she has undoubtedly hit the ground running.
