Lonzo Ball takes shot at Nick Wright over Hornets LaMelo ‘clown’ comments

After Fox Sports 1’s Nick Wright called out Charlotte Hornets’ LaMelo Ball for tripping Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo, which ended the veteran center’s night in a 127-126 overtime win, Lonzo Ball defended his brother on social media. Adebayo, who suffered a back injury after the trip, watched the Hornets eliminate his Heat without him.

Ball, who only needed four words to get his point across to Wright, responded to the Fox Sports 1 analyst’s “clown” label with one of his own, he said, per Lonzo Ball’s X, formerly Twitter.

“Nick Wright a bum!” Ball said, which was accompanied by a clown emoji.

Lonzo Ball, who was traded from the Cleveland Cavs to the Utah Jazz ahead of this year’s deadline, was waived by the Jazz the same day. Credit to Lonzo for standing up for his brother, who helped push the Hornets to a playoff berth. LaMelo led the Hornets with 30 points on 12-for-21 shooting, including two threes, and 10 assists.

Fox Sports 1’s Nick Wright didn’t hold back against Hornets’ LaMelo Ball. Wright isn’t the only analyst calling out the Hornets guard. Colin Cowherd called out Ball for his approach in Tuesday’s matchup, despite pulling off the victory.

For many, Ball’s cheap shot on the Heat center Bam Adebayo is a testament to his immaturity, Wright said, per Fox Sports 1’s First Things First.

“I am not sorry, and I don’t care if this gets clipped. That young man is a clown, and has been a clown forever, and never not be a clown,” Wright said. “I don’t know what he will be down the road. What I do know is the way he conducts himself on the court, and it would appear off the court, is that of an immature coddled teenager.”
