Lane Kiffin, LSU pro player push trolled hard in 2-minute video with perfect tagline

LSU and Lane Kiffin have been bringing NFL talent back to the college ranks after they failed to make NFL rosters. The SEC has made rules against players returning to college, but those are also being challenged.

Now, a sketch comedy group, SEC Shorts, is trolling Kiffin and LSU with their most recent video.

The video speaks of a fake program being created by LSU called the “Sunday to Saturdays” program, which helps players coming off an NFL roster. The video sees a fake former NFL player, wearing a Cleveland Browns shirt, returning to campus. When he returns, a random player is seen packing his stuff and leaving. The entire video sees him making a mockery of the college setup, while his agent is with him.

At the end, the player returns to the NFL, heading to Buffalo, but the final dig came with the final tagline. “LSU. Somebody was going to do it, might as well be us.”

The quality of the dig was noted by Nicole Auerbach of NBC Sports.

“So good — especially the tagline at the end,” Auerbach posted on X, formerly Twitter.

SEC Shorts has been around since the fall of 2014. During the football season, the team at SEC Shorts makes a weekly video, commenting on the weekly events. There have been viral moments, such as the “Vandy Pimp,” taking the stage over the last two years and being introduced after a 2024 Vanderbilt upset. The character was embraced by Nashville and even made an appearance on College GameDay.

The group has also taken plenty of shots at Kiffin. They did a video on his departure to LSU, and then another one after Kiffin was accused of leaving his dog, Juice, at Ole Miss. Kiffin will likely be the butt of many jokes from the team this year, as they drop videos throughout the season.
