Kylian Mbappe breaks all-time Champions League record aged just 26 with Real Madrid magic

Kylian Mbappe created a stunning piece of Champions League history with a stunning seven-minute hat-trick for Real Madrid.

The record 15-time champions went 1-0 down at in their 4-3 league phase win at Olympiacos on Wednesday night.

Mbappe then levelled in the 22st minute before adding his second of the night moments later to put Madrid ahead.

He completed his hat-trick in the 29th minute as the Spanish giants turned on the style in Piraeus.

The 26-year-old bagged his fifth Champions League treble, four of which have come in away matches.

This is the most out of any player in the competition’s history, with former Italy striker Filippo Inzaghi closest on three.

Mbappe’s latest hat-trick came within six minutes and 42 seconds of play, the second-quickest time ever in the Champions League.

Mohamed Salah remains the fastest with his efforts against Rangers in 2022 as he bagged in six minutes and 12 seconds.

Mehdi Taremi pulled one back for Olympiacos early on in the second half to reduce the deficit.

However, Mbappe swiftly netted his fourth goal of the match in what was a stunning display, with Ayoub El Kaabi adding a late consolation.

The French international has now scored 64 goals in 92 Champions League appearances for Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain and Madrid.

Mbappe remains sixth in the all-time standings, seven behind Madrid legend Raul.

Stunning second season for Mbappe

After netting 44 goals and assisting another five in his debut season at Madrid, Mbappe has certainly turned up in his second campaign.

He has totalled 22 goals in 18 appearances in all competitions, whilst also assisting three for his teammates.

Mbappe scored two goals in Madrid’s Champions League opener at home to Marseille and netted a hat-trick against FC Kairat.

The forward then blanked against Juventus and Liverpool, but has made amends in their trip to Olympiacos.

Mbappe is on nine Champions League goals for the season, which has him top of the rankings after five matches.

He also leads the way in LaLiga with 13 goals in Madrid colours.
